Observed on ttorg/widget!1. mr merge was refused three times, each naming one thing: required approvals, then CODEOWNERS, then fast-forward. mr show lists reviews and nothing about what the repository requires; the web page says "Reviews: no reviews yet, Checks: none reported" and nothing about required approvals or outstanding owners. An owner with read only approved, the command accepted it, and the refusal said the approval was "missing" rather than that it could not count.
Wants a gates block on mr show and the page: approvals required and fresh, owners outstanding per file, open threads, whether a fast-forward is possible, and mr merge reporting every unmet gate at once. mr review should warn when the verdict cannot count.
