The spec's width list puts "commit and MR diffs" under wide, but the width is a per-template define (Task 7 of #218), so the merge request page is reading width in every view and a unified diff scrolls inside .tablewrap at 72rem. Either move the width to the page struct so ?view=diff can pick wide, or accept reading and say so in the spec.
