The dependency issue body is markdown, and the notification mail carries it verbatim. The web renders the table; a mail client shows the raw pipes, which do not line up:

Padding every cell to its column width fixes the plain-text reading and changes nothing on the web, since a renderer ignores the padding. One body, legible either way — no separate mail formatting.
