gitbay v1.31.0 moved the profile about text into /.gitbay and removed --about-format and --file from profile set and org profile. Every save from the app fails with exit 2 (unknown flag), including in the shipped 1.2.0.

  • ProfileEdit sends description, website and links only.
  • Profile decodes about_path and renders the text under it.
  • The about section links to the file for a viewer who may write it, and offers to create /.gitbay with a starter profile/README.md when there is none. The starter goes to the existing repository's default branch, or main for a new one.
  • Live suite: the profile save waits for the edit sheet to close, and the about step accepts either action.

Unit tests: 467 passed on iOS 26.5; Release device build succeeds. Live: testProfileAndNavigationFlows passed as ios-smoke at 045cba8.

Live run: testProfileAndNavigationFlows passed as ios-smoke on 045cba8 (81s). The save closed the edit sheet, and the profile offered the about-file action. Nothing was created; the save re-sent the account's current values.
